Kodak_0427.jpg (381999 bytes) Gr...eetings once again from Arusha. Lyndall and I have had three events in the past 3 weeks and all have been wonderful. Heres some of what happened.....

Dareda Pastors and Womens conferences

....were a great success with Perimeter team led by Jerry Thames. Working together enabled us to touch 160 pastors in the area and it allowed me to teach guys that I would normally take 3 years to get around! Jerry and Lindell Sherill  touched the pastors with their discipleship teaching. [For Ozzies, Lindell is a man and it was a bit interesting having two Lyndall/Lindells around!]

Pastor Lyimo, Gidori and I reinforced the vision of "working together to build the kingdom" that we had started with Stephen Cullen in May this year. You can see here how the Lord touched many leaders hearts.

For the womens seminar Lyndall writes: "On September the 23rd a large group of us went to Dareda for a pastors and women’s seminar.  There were 6 people from Perimeter Church in the U.S. ( who sponsored the seminars) plus two of our music and film teams and several interpreters.  We needed a big bus and a car to transport all of us and the equipment!

I went to do some teaching to the women on HIV/AIDS- it was Gidori’s idea.   When the women heard it some of them said  “ the pastors need to hear this too".  So then I taught 2 sessions at the pastors seminar.  I must say I felt the Lord strengthening me and giving me an ability beyond my own.  Praise God for the Holy Spirit that He has given us. I was really tired by the end of the 3 days, though.   Thankyou for praying for us and please don’t stop!"

[It was really funny watching the pastors as they listened to Lyndall- I took this photo to show you how they were glued to what she was teaching!!! She had their attention!]

Karanse Widows and Ophans
Thanks to those of you who have helped this project. Here is a grandmother who has several orphans because both her sons died of AIDS. She was given this milking goat to help provide for the children and she could not thank us enough.

This young widow on the right had some help building a house for her.

For those of you that are wanting to support a child or the project at Karanse, bear with us, we are close to being organised and will let you know the best way of doing it so we are a blessing to the widows and children in the long term. We want to help without developing long term dependency there.

Dedication at Vunta Hills

It was great to climb the 6000 foot high mountain at Vunta Hills and encourage the people there again. It has been 4 years since we were there last. At the church dedication the people raised 1700 AUD [850USD] there and then for the roof! It was a blessing to join with them in the project rather than be the sole giver! [here are all the kids lined up on the grass eating lunch. Its a beautiful village.]

Arusha Pastors Fellowship

Thanks to those who were able to pray with us on this one. It was another step in our vision to join the leaders together in their work in the Arusha area. It was a blessing to me personally in that I was able to involve a missionary friend who has local knowledge of the problems of the church in Tz. Gary Eberts, Jay, Pastor Lyimo, Pastor Msuya and myself joined to challenge the 70-80 pastors. We had a great time. Imagine us being able to call all these leaders together!!! We thank Him for allowing us to do it and thank you for enabling us to do it.

Prayer points:

  • Thanks.

    • Kirsty has been sponsored by one person in Australia and another in US and so is coming to see us in the New Year after seeing Sharon in Scotland. It is an answer to prayer for us all especially for a mother missing her daughter and a daughter missing her family. We cannot thank the two people involved enough.

    • For being enabled to teach encourage and spend time with the leadership of His church in Northern Tanzania.

    • Having a wonderful family

    • School fees paid this term

  • Prayer

    • Knowing what to do and what not to do with regards to the many invitations/requests that come our way.

    • Support from home down this month. Not sure why. Maybe Xmas came early!

    • Next step on car- had a bit of a major time on repairs this last week. The old girl is getting a bit temperamental. [Lyndall would say the 'old boy'....]

Finally, below are a few testimonies of the great job our teams are doing every week in many villages.....

Thanks for taking the trouble to read all this!

    Bless you all,

    Mike and Lyndall

    TUKUSI B

81 people believed Jesus Christ in a crusade meeting conducted by ETF, 18 through cinema and 71 house-to-house testimonies. All together 141 people received Jesus as their personal saviour.

We are very happy because a large number of people committed their lives to Jesus in our campaigns. Also we had a good number of people who attended the crusade and cinema. Many were healed and delivered from demonic powers. We faced many problems including sleeping, cold, and flu because in the villages they don’t  have enough facilities.

    MKONO REPORT

6 people received Jesus Christ in a crusade,1 through cinema and 3 in a house to house testimonies .Total believers 10. The spirit of religion binds many people. They are against the message of salvation, so we need to go from time to time and to pray hard so that we can have a breakthrough. Pray for them. Is a very cold  area so we need heavy clothes.

    MOITA CRUSADE AND  CINEMA

215 people  believed Jesus Christ in a crusade, 9 through cinema and 40 in house to house testimonies. All together 345 people received Jesus as their personal saviour.

One lady received healing. She suffered from abdominal pain since 1999.She was set free during praise and worship because she was encouraged to believe  that she will be delivered during worship and praise.
